Our Productions
Brevard Ballet Youth Company produces two full-length ballets each year. The Nutcracker Ballet is our annual performance in December, while our spring production is staged each May. All of Brevard Ballet Youth Company's shows feature students from Brevard Ballet Academy and occasional guest dancers. Props are hand-crafted by volunteers from our community and costumes are designed by the Artistic Director, Elena Shokhina, and sewn by the company's talented wardrobe seamstress, Joanna Hoke. The elaborate and colorful designs hint at the magic that is to come when dancers don the outfits and step onto the stage. The stage team consists of the Theatre Director and his passionate theatre students. Our performances expose students to a theatre master class by our stage engineer, Maxim Bondar, who brings his expertise from the world famous Mariinsky Theatre (St. Petersburg, Russia).

Swan Lake
Composed by Pyotr IIyich Tchaikovsky
Directed and Staged by Elena Shokhina
Staged by Artistic Director, Elena Shokhina, to Tchaikovsky's powerful score, Swan Lake tells the triumphant story of Swan Princess, Odette, and her spellbound swan maidens, Prince Siegfried, the evil baron, Von Rothbart and the imposter, Odille. This enchanting fairytale takes you on a journey of true love, tragedy, and sorcery. From the royal medieval ballroom to the moonlit lakeside, we promise pure magic, drama, and suspense.
Brevard Ballet Youth Company's production of Swan Lake premiered in May 2022 with Brevard Ballet alumna, Vivien Levine, making her debut in the dual role of Odette and Odile. Over 100 Brevard Ballet Academy students graced the stage in the return of Swan Lake in May 2023. In May 2024, Brevard Ballet Youth Company in collaboration with Space Coast Symphony Orchestra, presented the full-length production at the King Center for the Performing Arts in Melbourne, FL. The ballet featured 24 swans in the famous lakeside scene, just like a professional classical ballet company, with our youngest swans being only 11 years old. Brevard Ballet dancers were joined by Guest Artists from Orlando Ballet performing the lead roles of Odette/Odile and Prince Siegfried.
